Varis..........

Varis sighed as he gazed out the window he was sitting at, thoughts of his past swirling through his mind as his comrades slept. He sighed again sadly as he thought of Luka. He remembered happier times when he wasn't the low life scoundrel he was now. He was once a prince, a prince of a far off land few people here had heard of. He'd come here for that reason, no one would know who he was, he could live with the name Luka had given him. Happily living for both him and Luka. Where was Luka now? Dead. His father had killed Luka because he'd been an embarrassment. If Varis hadn't been foolish about his feelings for Luka, this would never have happened, Luka would still be alive. But He knew Luka had loved him just as much as Varis loved him, and still loved him. He had to stop chasing ghosts. Luka had died, he'd seen it, and he was now immortal, forever searching for a way to join his lover in death, that was his fate. He remembered rumours of a handsome Luka living here and felt his heart break all over again. The Luka he knew was tall, had the messiest curly black hair he knew of, and the most beautiful ocean blue eyes, no other could match that. Varis also remembered the night he'd been bitten, He'd thought he'd heard someone chasing after him, and could have sworn he'd heard Luka calling him, but he'd told himself it had only been wishful thinking. His own father had taken Luka to the WereCats as a sacrafice, Luka would never have survived. He looked over at Kat, Kat had lost those she had loved most as well, they were quite similar in that effect. Maybe they could heal together. Varis would never see Luka again, and Kat would never see past her families execution. two peas in a pod. Mindless slaughter. That's the world they knew. Loved ones dying and nothing but sneering to comfort them afterwards. He'd protect this woman for Luka's sake. Luka had loved Varis for being kind, he would protect him as long as he could, if it meant dying then he would die greatful, he'd join his lover that way.
